Anjunabeats Volume 8

Above & Beyond Andreas Hermansson Anjunabeats Vol. 8 Anphonic David West Juventa Larry Mountains 54 Thing Called Love
David West feat Andreas Hermansson - Larry Mountains 54 (Juventa Remix) [Anjunabeats]
It's finally here!

The biggest trance compilation release of the summer, Anjunabeats Vol. 8, is now out. My recommendation: get your hands on this album, find a nice relaxing spot, and let Above & Beyond take you on a musical journey. Simply put, the entire album IS melodic gold.

With over 170 releases under the Anjunabeats name, the prolific UK trance masters have managed to impress fans consistently over the past decade by continuously defining and redefining the dance scene with their amazing productions. Anjunabeats Vol. 8 includes two brand new tracks from the trance trio themselves: Anphonic, posted by Proto two days ago, and epic vocal track Thing Called Love, featuring Alone Tonight's Richard Bedford.

This year's compilation remains loyal to Anjunabeats' trademark style of progressive grooves, uplifting melodies, and inspiring vocals. However, it's impossible not to notice the new presence of heavy electro basslines in many of the tracks. Some of my favorite tracks with electro beats include Keyboard Cowboys by Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer, and Sushi by newcomer 7 Skies.

Speaking of new talent, Anjunabeats Vol. 8 introduces a host of up-and-coming artists such as Andrew Bayer and Arty, both of whom are featured multiple times in the album. Of course, many of the familiar names from past volumes are also back, including Daniel Kandi, Nitrous Oxide, Mat Zo, and the always exciting Super8 & Tab. The trance duo's two massive tracks on Vol. 8, Black Is The New Yellow, and, Mercy, serve as previews for the release of their debut album later this year. This year's compilation is also structured similarly to its predecessors, starting with deep progressive tracks on the first CD and escalating into full melodic trance by the second.

For a taste of Vol. 8, check out the unmixed song released with the album, David West's Larry Mountains 54 (Juventa Remix) - a wicked progressive track to say the least. I have also posted live footage of A&B playing A Thing Called Love at Electric Daisy Carnival 2010. Please be sure to come back and let us know what you think of the album!
