Back in '05 I would never have foreseen soulful vocal house thriving in the United States of America, but clearly a lot has changed since then. David Guetta was one of the first to push this style into the mainstream with best-selling hits like Love Is Gone. The massively influential French DJ really paved the way for artists like Holland's R3hab and Russia's Swanky Tunes (pictured) to release huge anthems like Sending My Love, which features the powerful vocals of Max C.

Sending My Love inspired remixes by some of house music's most prominent names, including Afrojack, Kaskade, and Hard Rock Sofa. Much like Future Folk by Tommy Trash, bagpipes were implemented in the Hard Rock Sofa remix that Afrojack later took to even greater heights with a personal edit. Continuing, Kaskade's version works a kind of funky disco rhythm and also throws in a calming piano breakdown. London's Tommy Trash worked plenty of techy elements into his remix, with groovy piano stabs colliding with rough electro basslines.
