Burgeoning Los Angeles-based imprint Prep School Recordings just dropped an impressive EDM rework of Kiven's progressive rock EP Step, marking the label's fifth release since its launch back in early November. The EP features remixes by popular LA DJ/producer and label co-founder Dr. Fresch, fledgling house artist Aether, southern California duo Shoe Scene Symphony, and rising star Clinton VanSciver. For those unfamiliar with Clinton's work, look no further than his official remixes of Aoki, Anggar Dimas, and Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike's monster tune Phat Brahms, and Armin van Buuren's recent anthem, Waiting For The Night. Clinton has certainly been gaining steam with his huge remixes, and his work on this EP is nothing short of hands-in-the-air madness.

The Step Remix EP is filled with a variety of EDM flavors, and Clinton VanSciver kicks the EP into 6th gear right off the bat. From glitchy vocal effects to booming sythns, Clinton takes the measured rock tune The Irony and plants it firmly on its ear. If Clinton's remix is the Ferrari of this EP, Dr. Fresch's remix would be the Rolls Royce. His remix of Fire and Frames showcases a lustrous nu-disco polish with swanky, 80's analogue synthetic trim, and probably would be filed somewhere between British electronica and nu-soul at the local record shop. Move ahead to Shoe Scene Symphony's remix of The Blur Ensues for more of a big-room workout as the duo injects the original tune with a heavy dose of progressive attitude. Be sure to grab a copy of the Step Remix EP, which is exclusively available through Beatport right now.
