James Blake - Retrograde
King James is back, and I don't mean Lebron.
Last night, a new James Blake track entitled Retrograde dropped on the web before it was abruptly taken down. Luckily enough, we were able to scoop up a rip of the track for your streaming pleasure, as a temporary solution before a high quality release is out.
Blake takes a note from Sam Cooke on this one and delivers some mature, soulful crooning on Retrograde. The minimal beats and looping falsettos swerve in and out before a buzzingly warm synth drowns out the mix. Blake's sophomore album, Overgrown, is expected out later this year. We can't wait for a high quality version of Retrograde and any more neo-futuristic-hyper-minimal soul the producer has in his bag.
