HARD Summer 2013 is almost upon us and this year the lineup is arguably one of the best lineups of the festival season, with a fairly diverse group of acts ranging from electro kings Knife Party to Ed Banger's always interesting Mr. Oizo and even hip hop artist 2 Chainz. Among the giant list of big-name acts are a few that really have us excited for this year's festival.

Claude VonStroke

Claude vonStroke Dirtybird

Claude VonStroke is one of those artists that is extremely hard to dislike. One of the founders of the infamous dirtybird record label based in San Francisco (who boasts their own stage Sunday night), Claude VonStroke is a producer that is so tapped into the underground scene that it is sometimes hard to identify half of the tracks he is playing. His sets are usually extremely refreshing, especially when compared with many of the more commercial DJs that seem to be dominating the festival circuit. Claude VonStroke is also set to release his third album Urban Animal on September 17th and is bound to play some of his new material.

Oliver

Oliver

Oliver has gained a decent amount of notoriety over the past few year or so, although we still feel as though they are flying under the radar for far too many people. The duo put out their Mechanical all the way back in January and it's still one of the cleanest, and most well-produced EPs of the year. When the duo isn't touring and creating their own music, they are usually busy producing for other mega artists such as A-Trak and Destructo. Earlier this month the duo also mentioned that they are working on a record and that "there will be plenty of disco/funk inspired songs... along with some heavy analog weirdness." We're more than likely going to get a taste of some of the weirdness during their set this year.

Disclosure

Disclosure

Discloure took the electronic music scene by storm with the release of their debut album Settle at the end of this past May. The album is absolutely packed with some of the deepest of deep house and garage vibes that can be heard on this planet and while that alone might be enough to warrant checking them out, their live show has also garnered a great amount of praise. In June Boiler Room threw a party for the release of their album where they played live with Jessie Ware so make sure to check out the video to get a feel for what to expect from the UK duo.

Breakbot

Breakbot

Ed Banger Records is going to have a major presence at this summer's HARD with their own stage and a large list of artists from their label. Breakbot is one of the more interesting artists that is going to be playing, mainly because his sets tend to fall on the more laidback side of the spectrum. While a large portion of the acts playing at the festival fall into either the mega energy or super mega energy camps, Breakbot tends to elicit more of a nu-disco dance party feel. He recently released a music video for his newest track You Should Know which should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Flux Pavilion

Flux Pavilion

If dubstep is what you're into, Flux Pavilion is your man. Co-founder of UK-based Circus Records, the man is a legend in the realm of everything bass. The music video for his collaboration with Childish Gambino was released last month and is a perfect example of what is to be expected from one of his sets. If bass music and non-stop partying are what you want, look no further.
