Laidback Luke & Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - MORE (D.O.D Remix) (Preview) [Mixmash]
Someone asked how we decide on the news every day. Well, the short answer is Thunderdome. We round up all the stories of the day, give them weapons, and throw them in to fight to the death. 10 stories enter, 5 stories leave. You know the rules. This is the Newsbyte.

The lucky winners today are Serato's new iPad app, a new single from Daft Punk, a confirmed residency in Ibiza for Paris Hilton, and much more.

Paris In Ibiza

Socialite and media darling Paris Hilton's reported residency in Ibiza was confirmed by staple club Amnesia yesterday, who will feature Hilton as the resident DJ at a weekly party called "Foam & Diamonds." Marketed as a combination of music, fashion, and of course, foam, the party kicks off July 31 and continues every Wednesday at Amnesia. Hilton will also be opening a pop-up shop on club grounds for the duration of the event series.

Ibiza's "hawtest" new DJ is also expected to release a house-flavored album, produced by Afrojack, on Cash Money Records in the not-too-distant future. Label-head Birdman told MTV in an interview that he and fellow Cash Money star Lil Wayne are already fans of her material.

"She got a record we're about to come out with and she's very talented. You know she's already somethin' special as an entrepreneur and everything that she do," he said. "But on the music side, I'm super excited. We all — me, Wayne, everybody — we listened to her music and she got some hits."

D.O.D Wants M.O.R.E

MORE remixes

After blowing away listeners with his first few original productions on Mixmash's sub-label Ones To Watch, Dan O'Donnell, aka D.O.D, is back with a huge remix of his label boss's collab with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, MORE. The track is another big room electro number from the young talent, which retains the familiar lead line but opts for a new, dancefloor-destroying drop that arguably hits harder than the original. The tune is out July 31 on a remix package also offering new takes on MORE from Blasterjaxx, Shelco Garcia, and Teenwolf.

New Daft Single In The Stars

Daft Punk

After verifying that the world has an insatiable hunger for Daft Punk music, the duo have made it known that they are not finished releasing singles. In a recent post on his blog, Daft collaborator Nile Rodgers (who also recently announced that DP will be contributing to new/old Chic material) included a short sidebar disclosing that Daft will be releasing another single around Aug. 19. The disco don mentioned the event while promoting his inaugural Nile Rodgers Dance Party on the same day in New York, which also features a few "surprises..."

"There's going to be me, my band CHIC, and some of the hottest acts and surprises on the planet that day... which happens to be around the time the next Daft Punk single drops (I'm just saying)."
Now, a new single doesn't necessarily mean a NEW single. They might be releasing one of the other big tracks on RAM as a single, so keep that in mind. As far as the "surprise," however, allow us to remind you of the Wee Waa incident. A surprise appearance at Nile's first Dance Party wouldn't be the strangest thing they've ever done.

iHeart Lineups

... especially when they're announced by Ryan Seacrest. The upcoming iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas Sept. 20-21 will see performances from Tiesto, Phoenix, Zedd, Benny Benassi, and tons more huge names from other styles of music like Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, the one and only Elton John, and a special performance from Queen. Scope the full lineup in photo gallery form here, and pick up tickets here when they go on sale July 20.

Serato Made Simpler

Serato users dying for a way to involve the touch capabilities of an iPad in their DJ sets must wait no longer. The DJ tech giant just released their iPad-based controller app Serato Remote, intended for use with Scratch Live or Serato DJ.

The app offers easy-to-use cue points, loops, sample controls, and more via the simplicity of the touchscreen interface. Basically, anything that you would normally have to manipulate using your laptop can now be accessed via the iPad. Check out the video of one of the Serato dudes killing it with one below, and pick it up here on the Apple Store for $19.99.
