The Technodrome 38: MANT Premiere

Welcome back to another edition of The Technodrome, LessThan3's weekly dive into the underground. This week we bring you a special, exclusive premiere from London duo MANT, plus new releases from Matador, Copy Paste Soul, and more. You ready for the best techno music of the week?

PREMIERE: Jacob Plant feat. Example - Reflections (MANT Remix) [Skint]

We featured MANT (pictured) in last week's episode when they delivered an 11-minute epic remix of Nero's Into The Night. Now, the terrific techno tandem returns with yet another remix that is absolutely bonkers as they rework fellow Brit Jacob Plant's hit single, Reflections. It's a fat, chunky offering that bounces and bops around Example's vocals. With their eponymous EP already available now and a new Freedom EP waiting in the wings, these two groovy London boys are poised to make a splash in 2016. Pick up the single Jan. 22 on legendary imprint Skint Records.

Jody Barr - Sheilas Demands (Original Mix) [Krankbrother]

What a brooding, beast of a tune! Don't let its reserved tempo fool you--this growling slice of analogue nastiness features razor-sharp breakdowns, hard percussion, and an otherworldly atmosphere. I wasn't intimately familiar with the label of brothers Danny and Kieran Clancy before, but it's on my watch-list now after this massive tune. Pick it up Jan. 22.

Matador feat. Felix Da Housecat - The Enemy (Original Mix) [Rukus]

Techno bad boy Matador celebrates the launch of his own Rukus label with the imprint's debut EP, The Enemy. He teams up with groove-meister Felix Da Housecat for the devilishly delicious title track, unleashing a satanic bassline and an explosive, turn-to-your-friend-and-drop-your-mouth-open-in-bliss groove. Conor McGregor is qunestionably the King of Dublin, but Matador isn't too far behind. Pick up the EP everywhere Feb. 15.

Copy Paste Soul - In Focus (Original Mix) [Intec]

Copy Paste Soul first popped up on my radar thanks to Audiojack's stunning 2014 remix of their Jody Barr collab Monday, but it's tracks like In Focus that keep me coming back. The title track to CPS' latest release is relentlessly energetic, bursting at the seems with weird synths and dark, rave-ready aplomb. Pick it up Jan. 25.

Manuel De La Mare - Catwalk (Original Mix) [303Lovers]

You ready to dance like a cat? Manuel De La Mare's new single has been tearing up the Beatport Techno chart lately, and for good reason--the track is just a sh*t-load of fun. I dare you not to dance to this one. Pick it up on Beatport here.

The Technodrome 37

I love the smell of techno in the morning! Welcome back to another edition of The Technodrome, LessThan3's weekly dose of the underground. This time around, we're bringing you the best techno music from Huxley, Oscar Mulero, MUUI, and more. Dive in and dance.

Nero - Into The Night (MANT Remix) [MTA]

It's almost as if this song from Nero's Into The Night remix package way tailor-made for The Technodrome. Clocking in at 11 minutes, this is a big room techno epic that goes off so damn well in a large club. I'm getting goosebumps already. Pick it up on Beatport here.

MUUI - Lore (Original Mix) [Crossfrontier]

I recently came across MUUI, and since then I've been devouring the Berlin-based artist's music. Lore is featured on MUUI's Kinas EP, the prequel to MUUI's highly anticipated sophomore album Following Today. It's a deep, hypnotic, peak-time offering that is equal parts ethereal and driving. Pick up the Kinas EP here.

Huxley - Widow (Original Mix) [Aus]

The title track from Huxley's upcoming three-track EP starts out soft and delicate, but he's just playing with ya--this one quickly reveals itself to be a dark, bass-heavy beast that will make a Widow out of you. Pick it up Jan. 29 via Aus.

Oscar Mulero - Lights (Original Mix) [Warm Up]

Mulero has been called "Madrid's answer to Klock," and I'm inclined to agree with the statement. Bleak, piercing, and mechanical, Lights has dystopian German club written all over it. The steely hi-hats and relentless cymbals make this a fantastic late-night jam. Pick it up on the Arcade EP Jan. 22.

Betise - Solum (Ran Salman Remix) [Ardor]

Norwegian artist Bêtise hops on Ardor for his latest EP, featuring two originals and two remixes. Israel's Ran Salman transforms the warm and slightly donwtempo vibe of Solum by injecting some quirky-yet-infectious synth-play and subtle-yet-driving techno themes.

Nero Unveils ‘Into The Night’ Remix Package, feat. ATTLAS, Amtrac, More

There's no denying it: we absolutely <3 UK trio Nero's second studio album Between II Worlds. We're especially enamored with single Into The Night, which has now received a remix package featuring a slew of standout producers.

First up to bat is actually Nero, who deliver a throwback "1988" remix featuring plenty of classic feels. London-based duo MANT follows this up with a 11-minute techno journey, while Dawn Wall delivers a gorgeous drum & bass rendition. Leon Reverse, Friend Within, and Amtrac all take things in house-y directions (check out our review of Amtrac's here), and LessThan3 favorite ATTLAS unloads yet another soothing-yet-stunning progressive remix.

Pick up the full EP on Beatport here.

Amtrac Cuts Deep Groove On Nero’s ‘Into The Night’

AMTRAC (pictured) has been on his production game these last months, releasing originals and a string of remixes quicker than we can appraise them, and now the Kentucky-based artist shares his slow-burning remix of Nero's Into The Night.

Taken from Nero's Between II Worlds album, Into The Night is originally an emotional lyrical journey set to the UK group's more abrasive dance style. AMTRAC softens the edges with his rendition to give the tune a seductive house footing while emphasizing choice vocals for sentimental effect. Though the lyrics are not original to AMTRAC, they match his production style, which typically favors powerful house beats shaped around catchy vocal samples.

AMTRAC's remix will be available alongside other, still-unreleased Nero remixes on Jan. 8. Hear more from AMRTAC on SoundCloud here.
